A short biography.
I am a Professor at the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Dokuz Eylül University, in İzmir, Türkiye. My work sits at the intersection of signal processing, machine learning and instrumentation.
I've received my B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Boğaziçi (Bosphorus) University, M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Dokuz Eylül University, and Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University.
I teach undergraduate and graduate courses on biomedical engineering, biomedical signal processing, bioelectricity, human physiology and medical devices. My recent research focuses on machine-learning methods for biomedical signals, brain computer interface design, explainable AI, lung disease detection, heart rate variability analysis.
Alongside research and teaching, I build small software tools — demos, classroom utilities and companion apps for papers. This site collects all of that in one place, together with short NotebookLM videos that summarise topics for students.
