Filter Phase Visualizer

Interactive demonstration of Group Delay and Phase Distortion in FIR vs IIR filters.

Filter Settings

Adjust to see how the filter delays the signal in time.

FIR: Linear Phase

In a Linear Phase filter, the phase shift is directly proportional to the frequency ($\phi = -k\omega$). This means all frequency components are delayed by the exact same amount of time (constant Group Delay).

Result: The output waveform's shape is perfectly preserved, just shifted in time. Crucial for audio, ECG/EEG, and data transmission.
